Mass cull.
I'm doing a mass migration LJ->FaceBook. Locking down LJ to very core people.

Anyone I've removed from my Friends list is no less my friend ;) We'll just have to use other avenues (FB, email, etc.) to stay in touch.

The Tao of the Day will continue in its usual semi-predictable fashion.

I have a FB but don't ever use it (read: login about once a year). LJ is the only social-networking site that I ever really log into.

I'm not offended if you are taking your LJ more personal and I don't make the cut. :)

Good! Because I think you are awesome and this change has nothing to do with you, only me. ;> I'm still very interested in hearing about the crazy projects you get up to while you live the bohemian life for a bit.

Interesting - because removing people from friends doesn't just make your posts unreadable, but keeps you from seeing their posts and semi-regular musings via the /friends filter.

Unfortunately, I don't use facebook that often - mainly it's a way to find and keep in touch with people from decades ago, and a way to keep social networking with industry professionals who are more than just co-workers going. But as a social tool, it doesn't fulfill the same niche as LJ, at least not in my world.
