Student of the Tao
I throw out the bills. I keep the love letters, and soulful or funny quotes from friends.

I don't finish books that bore or frustrate me. I keep books that I love, and read them a second time.

Baby steps.

One day, I'll throw out grudges and the weight of BS frustrations that are bigger than they are. I'll keep the things that make me smile or laugh out loud out of context, like the time Lauren and I sang all the way down Denny Way and the time 8 of us crammed into a booth at the Hurricane at 4am after closing down the Merc and Jessi shouting in the 8th grade when I was being all woo-woo about silence of snow and the feeling of A running his finger down my tattoo the first time we officially met.

Step 1. Pile weighty junk into bucket.
Step 2. Float test (Navyspeak for dump trash into ocean).

Step 1, take 12...

I hadn't looked at your LJ in a long time and certainly didn't expect to see my name in one of your most recent entries. How could I not post a reply after that?

Just wanted to say that I hope you're doing well and that your year is off to a good start. I know it's been a long time, as evidenced by the fact that I had no idea you had gotten a tattoo. I'm sure it's beautiful and perfect for you. :)
