Tao of the Day - Excerpt from an Egyptian Instruction  
If you are a man who leads
Listen calmly to the speech of one who pleads
Don't stop him from purging his body of what he planned to tell
A man in distress wants to pour out his heart more than that his case be won
[...] Not all one pleads for can be granted
But a good hearing soothes the heart.

I was with that one right up until the fourth line; usually, I want my case won more than I want to pour out my heart.

But the last two lines are still true enough. :)
