Tao of the Day  
I was happy but happy is an adult word. You don't have to ask a child about happy, you see it. They are or they are not. Adults talk about being happy because largely they are not. Talking about is the same as trying to catch the wind. Much easier to let it blow all over you.

I've been on a Jeanette Winterson kick lately-- newer stuff. I just finished Lighthousekeeping and I'm rolling right into Weight, her adaptation of a myth about Atlas and Heracles. The opening line is "The free man never thinks of escape"

Her writing is so apt; her prose makes me cry. She gets to the heart of things.

This is my first Winterson book ever. I'm completely on fire for her at the moment!
